چکیده
Objective: To compare ringer’s lactate versus normal saline as a fluid replacement therapy among pediatric patients with acute severe diarrhea and dehydration. Study Setting: A quasi experimental study was undertaken at Paediatric medicine department, “Peoples university of medical health sciences for women Nawabshah during April to September 2021”. Material Methods: conducted. Randomly participants were divided in two groups, group Ringer given while B replacement. Detailed history, clinical findings, demographic details the serum electrolytes, renal parameters acid-base status both groups noted on pre-formed proforma, before after 6 hours starting therapy. Data analyzed by using SPSS V-20. Results:Mean age RL 3.35 ± 1.22 3.39 1.19 NS male predominance. At time admission, there no significant association characteristics between groups. After treatment, end dehydration pH improved more group. The change electrolytes comprising potassium, chloride sodium greater RL, other hand, p-values only potassium. Looking over status, alteration bicarbonate compared p-value. Conclusion:It can be concluded that is superior gastroenteritis. Keywords: Acute watery diarrhea, Severe dehydration, Ringer’s lactate, Normal saline, Fluid

متن کاملThe effect of zinc on childhood acute diarrhea a triple blind randomized controlled trial
Background: Zinc is essential for nucleic acid metabolism, protein synthesis and tissue healing. Zinc deficiency has detrimental effects on child health and increases mortality rate of pneumonia and gastroenteritis. By improving absorptive function of villous cells and by reducing pathogenic enterobacteriaceae in lumen, Zinc improves diarrhea outcome in children. Previous studies in developing ...
